
Am I Eligible?
The application criteria are simple. You must:

Graduate from a Stark County high school; be a Stark County resident who graduated from the ABC (A Better Chance) program; be a Stark County resident who is eligible to graduate from a Stark County high school, but chose to attend and graduate out of county; or a Stark County resident who was home schooled.

Enroll in school full time ( at least 12 credit hours per term) in a post high school, undergraduate degree-granting program. This includes associate degrees, technical-school and trade school programs.

Have and maintain minimum term and cumulative grade point averages of 2.00.
Requirements for Receiving a Loan
To receive an undergraduate loan the student must:

Have the ability to perform satisfactorily in a post high school undergraduate training or college program.

Demonstrate the industry, determination and fortitude to graduate.

Show a proven need for financial assistance beyond what the applicant and family can provide.

Demonstrate a commitment that the money will be repaid per the terms of the loan agreement.
To receive a graduate school loan the student must:

Be a current Canton Student Loan Foundation loan recipient

Meet the criteria provided in the Loan Application packet or, if currently in repayment, speak to Canton Student Loan Foundation staff.
How Can I Apply?
To apply for a student loan:

File a Canton Student Loan Foundation application by June 1 prior to the beginning of your fall semester. To access the online application click here.

Submit a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA.

Submit letters of reference from two individuals not related to you.

Provide transcripts of high school and college grades. Must be final official transcripts. No copies will be accepted.

Provide ACT and/or SAT scores.

All eligible student loan applicants will be interviewed by one of our Foundation Trustees.
